We are currently seeking experienced Benefit Counselors in the Owatonna area who are ready to take their careers to the next level.

Compensation: Uncapped, performance-based earnings typically ranging from $75,000 to $120,000+ annually. Top performers exceed this range through commissions, renewal income, and bonuses.

As a Benefit Counselor, you’ll operate as an independent agent, focused on building trusted partnerships with businesses in your local market and providing strategic benefit solutions that support both employers and their employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identifying and cultivating new business opportunities

  • Presenting to business decision-makers and HR professionals

  • Leading group benefits meetings and individual enrollment sessions

  • Delivering long-term account management and client support

  • Tailoring solutions to meet the unique needs of each organization

You’ll benefit from mentorship and ongoing support from a 40-year industry veteran, along with proven systems that support your success without limiting your independence.

This is a 1099 independent contractor position — ideal for self-starters who value autonomy, flexibility, and unlimited income potential. Your earnings come from a combination of first-year commissions, renewals, and performance-based bonuses.

What You’ll Need to Bring:

  • A strong background in sales, benefits, insurance, or client management

  • Current MN Life & Health Insurance License (or ability to obtain within 30 days)

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

  • Ability to pass a background check

  • A client-first mindset and drive to build a business with purpose
